temple square

We were up in Salt Lake so we decided to stop and take couple of pictures at temple square. Mostly Terrell wanted to take some of the flowers but we also tried to get some of Owen who wanted nothing to do with it so we didn't get many that were all that good.

Eureka Trip

Terrell had heard there was some cool buildings down in Eureka to have as backgrounds so we took a small family trip to see what was there. While we were there we took a few pictures and despite Owen being completely uncooperative we ended up with a few cute ones. Enjoy.

Easter 2010

I guess I should post about Easter before it gets to far away.

All of the festivities started on Saturday when we suprised my mom for her 50th birthday. She shared it with Easter this year so we decided to do it a day early. She had no idea.

The kids gathered at the house at 9 and we decorated the family room and the kitchen with all sorts of black and 'Over the Hill' things. Mom and Dad arrived home at 10.(dad was in on all of it so he took her out for a few things that morning to help us out!)

Mom walked in the door and the first thing she said was,"It smells like someone has been baking." Sara had put the birthday cake in the oven and we thought we had been busted. But she still walked through the hall and then we all threw confetti at her and yelled SUPRISE!!! She was so startled she almost cried!!! HE HE!! We are awful!!

After the fright had worn off she was very thrilled to have us all over and loved that we made her feel old! We enjoyed the time together and made her feel like she had a birthday this year instead of it just being Easter.

Easter morning we woke up to about 3 inches of snow. I guess no Easter egg hunts for us. But the Easter bunny did visit during the night. Terrell and I got 2 movies. The Blind Side and Sherlock Holmes. Owen got a bat and ball and some race cars. He was so cute when he saw his basket on the table. He kept on pointing to it. He knew it was his!

We had our traditional Easter/conference breakfast, Egg Goulosh!!! YUM!!! We then sat down for conference and enjoyed just relaxing.

After the snow melted, about 4 o'clock, the Easter bunny helpers, Terrell and Mick, went outside to hide some eggs for us to hunt. owen didn't really know what to do at first but he got the hang of it.

In my family we all have a certain color egg we have to find. Owen didn't really care about that. He went for anything he could find. He ended up with a good amount of candy and we tried to keep it away from him until after dinner. We did ok but had to give him a little:)

All in all we had a good weekend and are off to start another. Hope you all had fun as well.

Family update

I try to keep up to date on this blog but I don't do a very good job at it. I thought that this week would be a good one to catch everyoine up on the most important things in my life, my kid(S)!!! Yes. For those of you who don't know, I am expecting again. He or she will be born about 2 weeks after owen's 2nd birthday. I guess I like to be pregnant in the summer!

I went to my 2nd appointment on Monday and they assured me no twins, YAY for that! My official due date is August 8th, a day after my birthday! I have to say that this pregnancy is harder than the first but not horrible. I hear all these stories of girls being so sick they can't even get out of bed, or they throw up 3 times a week. I ALMOST threw up once. And now I am onto trimester 2.

Expecting number two has made me want a house more and more. We strugle with finding places for things to go right now. We are still looking but have had no success on selling our condo so that we can move. Keep your fingers crossed.

Onto my other joy, Owen. He is so full of life and a joy to be around. He just hit 18 months this week and i can't believe it. He is starting to talk and being able to be understood. I am sure he is thrilled that he can say something and have me react the way he wants. He is already starting to show interest in potty training, YES!!! It would be so nice to have him out of diapers by the time the next one comes. He hasn't got to the point where he tells me before, he just hits himself after he pees. It is quite funny.

He had his check up this week also. Everyone always asks if I know what percentile he is in and I never have before, but I asked his doctor this time.
94% in height
12% in weight
Tall, skinny boy. And all of you know that he didn't get his height from me :)

Halloween

I think this is the last post I need to do before I am caught up.

Halloween was very fun for us thhis year. I think moms get more excited about it when the kids are young. My sister-in-law and I went to Kid-to-Kid the day the revealed all the costumes and got both of the boys adorable things. Kyler, my nephew was a monkey(so cute!!) and Owen was Cookie Monster. I thought it would be a great WARM costume for him. Turns out it didn't really need to be that warm. The weather was perfect for Halloween. I was a cozy witch. (Eyelashes were a killer to get on, even after 10 years of dancing.)

We had lots of parties to go to so I got lots of chances to show him off.

After the parties in the afternoon, we went over to gma's to carve pumpkins. Owen really didn't know what to think. Sheryl, my sister, kept on trying to put pumpkin guts on him. Still didn't work, he was too interested in the serated spoon. Nice toy for a 1 year old to have, I know!

Soon after we were done carving, we had to do our yearly tradition. We dance to Thriller! All the girls in the family get up and we watch the Thriller video and when the chorus starts, we all dance. I have to say that Sara is definately the best. I was behind the camera this year so you can't see me, but enjoy Sara!!!

Then, we all went Trick-or-Treating!! Owen quickly became aware that if he pounded on the door, a bowl of candy would suddenly appear. But then he wouldn't get the candy, it would just go into his bowl :( 1 year olds have a tough life! But when we got back to the house, I was a nice mom and gave him a candy. He was too eager to eat it, put the whole thing in his mouth, wrapper included!

We all love Halloween.
Here is my older sister, Sheryl.

My little niece, Maddison.

My sister Sara and her husband Trent.

And Owen, still with candy in his mouth!

Golf Balls

Terrell and a few of his buddies went night golfing a while ago and he came home with this.

He walked in the door and put his golf bag on the counter and he kept on emptying out every pocket he had. He filled up my whole sink with balls that they had found in a marshy area on the course. Terrell said that he got the least out of the bunch but there were still a ton.

I guess I don't need to get him any for Christmas!

The zoo

Terrell's mom loves going to the zoo and she came out here and took all the grandkids to the zoo. I think it was back in August or September. Shows how long it has been since I looked through my pictures.

Owen loved looking at all the animals. Here are a few pics.
