Halloween

I think this is the last post I need to do before I am caught up.

Halloween was very fun for us thhis year. I think moms get more excited about it when the kids are young. My sister-in-law and I went to Kid-to-Kid the day the revealed all the costumes and got both of the boys adorable things. Kyler, my nephew was a monkey(so cute!!) and Owen was Cookie Monster. I thought it would be a great WARM costume for him. Turns out it didn't really need to be that warm. The weather was perfect for Halloween. I was a cozy witch. (Eyelashes were a killer to get on, even after 10 years of dancing.)

We had lots of parties to go to so I got lots of chances to show him off.

After the parties in the afternoon, we went over to gma's to carve pumpkins. Owen really didn't know what to think. Sheryl, my sister, kept on trying to put pumpkin guts on him. Still didn't work, he was too interested in the serated spoon. Nice toy for a 1 year old to have, I know!

Soon after we were done carving, we had to do our yearly tradition. We dance to Thriller! All the girls in the family get up and we watch the Thriller video and when the chorus starts, we all dance. I have to say that Sara is definately the best. I was behind the camera this year so you can't see me, but enjoy Sara!!!

Then, we all went Trick-or-Treating!! Owen quickly became aware that if he pounded on the door, a bowl of candy would suddenly appear. But then he wouldn't get the candy, it would just go into his bowl :( 1 year olds have a tough life! But when we got back to the house, I was a nice mom and gave him a candy. He was too eager to eat it, put the whole thing in his mouth, wrapper included!

We all love Halloween.
Here is my older sister, Sheryl.

My little niece, Maddison.

My sister Sara and her husband Trent.

And Owen, still with candy in his mouth!

Golf Balls

Terrell and a few of his buddies went night golfing a while ago and he came home with this.

He walked in the door and put his golf bag on the counter and he kept on emptying out every pocket he had. He filled up my whole sink with balls that they had found in a marshy area on the course. Terrell said that he got the least out of the bunch but there were still a ton.

I guess I don't need to get him any for Christmas!

The zoo

Terrell's mom loves going to the zoo and she came out here and took all the grandkids to the zoo. I think it was back in August or September. Shows how long it has been since I looked through my pictures.

Owen loved looking at all the animals. Here are a few pics.

Owen misses his best friend.

I just wanted to say a quick note to my nephew Lincoln. He is the first boy nephew and grandson in the family and we all sure do love him. Since Owen was born, Lincoln has followed him around everywhere and always asks, "What OWEN doing? Even now when he has moved away, when he calls he doesn't want to talk to any of us, just Owen. They are truly buddies for life. Owen loves to play with his big cousin and sure does miss you Lincon!!!

Owen's Mess

Grandparents Day was a few weeks ago and I thought I would be fun and go over to my mom and dad's and suprise them with dinner and my dad's favorite cake, Spice cake. So, they were visiting my brother and were going to be home at about 5 pm. I went over there at 3 to start making dinner and put the cake in the oven. Then when they got home, they could smell yummy cake as they walked through the door.

My plans drastically changed at about 4 when I turned my head, for not even a second, and Owen had pulled the cord to the mixer and it tumbled to the floor. I had just finished mixing all the batter and was greasing the pan. Nice timing.

I guess it was a little bit my fault because I had given Owen a lick of batter off the spatula and I guess he wanted more!!!

I was very suprised to find out that he wasn't hurt and also, how far cake batter can spill. So, any of you who have been to my parents house, this is in their kitchen and the mixer was on the end by the garage and the window is about 6-8 feet away. A long way to go for cake batter!!!

Here are a few pics of the fun I had cleaning up.

The main landing spot.

The window, complete with splatters from 8 feet away

The sink and mixer.

All over the oven.

And it got ALL over me!

It took me about an hour to clean the sink, the windows, and the cabinets. So when my parents got home, they found the mess. I guess it really didn't turn out how I wanted.

WHAT A GOOD SUPRISE!!!

pyelonephritis

I thought I would post something about me on this blog instead of all being about Owen. Even though it isn't very pleasant.

It is a very long word to such a painful infection.

Last week, Sunday-ish, I was feeling kind of yucky and I told Terrell that it was probably just that time of the month. We are trying to get prego again and it was that week. My mom has always had migranes associated with ovulating but not me so I thought it was a little weird. Well, the pain kept getting worse throughout the week until Thursday I woke up at 2 in the morning shaking uncontrolably with a very high fever. Terrell thought it was the swine flu, he said he had those exact symptoms. So I took some tylenol and went to bed. The pain never went away but Saturday it went from feeling like cramps, up to the middle of my stomach, by my appendix and kidneys.

So, Sunday night we went into the hospital, had some blood work done and I got a UTI(urinary track infection) that has gone up into my kidney and infected it. MAN IT SUCKS!

I am on antibiotics for 2 weeks and the pain just went away this morning. My advice to you all. DRink lots of water!!!

All is under control now but I wished I had gotten it taken care of sooner. OH well. SUcks to be me!

Catch Up!!

From all the things and people I have seen and talked to, blogging kind of gets set on the back burner for the summer. Same here!! We have had a pretty busy summer and really haven't even had time to spend for myself. So I will update you all on what we have been up to.

OWEN"S 1st BIRTHDAY!
Owen turned 1 July 22nd and we threw him a party at my mom's with family and some close friends. My parents bouhgt this ride-on train at a yard sale and they set it up for Owen to ride on outside. He loves it!!

I also wanted to be a culinary mom and make owen's birthday cake. I saw a train cake pan and had to have it. My mom has made cakes all my life and I guess I thought it ran in the family. Here is the finished product. I thought I did pretty good.

He really enjoyed it and that is all that matters!!

He had lots of fun and it was a great time with family and friends.

FLAMING GORGE
Over the 24the of July, Terrell's family had a big get together. We went up there for 6 days! We had so much fun. Owen got soo dirty.

Our good friends the White's came down from Wyoming and brought their speed boat and yacht. Wow, can I say a good time. We were out on the boat every day. Too bad a never get a tan!!

Terrell's cousins also brought their 4 wheelers and some people even went rafting down the river.

All of terrell's family was there. There are mom and dad, 10 kids, 6 spouses, and 10 grand kids. BIG FAMILY!

SHERYL'S WEDDING
My older sister Sheryl got married on July 31st. It was a busy time to plan all the things we needed to as a family but well worth it. I was one of her bridesmaids and I think the most stressful thing for me was I made my own dress. I thought I was going to be smart and save money. I think I went a little overboard on the time I spent on it though.

The wedding was wonderful. Sheryl looked beautiful and I am so glad to have my new brother Mick.

My brother spencer is in the Marine's and he had just got station to Virginia before the wedding but Sheryl had already asked Lincoln (2 1/2 year old nephew) to be the ring bearer. Well, my mom got these way cute tuxes for Linc and Owen. They were soo cute!!

Sheryl is the last of the girls to be married. Here are the siblings. SUCH LOVE!

SHANAE WEDDING
Terrell's little sister Shanae got married August 28th. I am done with weddings for a little! We weren't as involved in this wedding as my sister's but a little. Terrell took all of Shanae's pictures. I think he did a realy good job. We went up to Memory Grove up in SLC for her bridals and they turned out great.

We took the pics on Wednesday and her wedding was on Friday. She got married in the Timpanogos Temple. It was amazing to see all of Terrell's family in the sealing room together. I am so grateful for the blessings of the temple.

Terrell also took pictures around the temple of the newly married couple.

We then hurried back to Roosevelt for the reception. It was so beautiful. But I am glad all the wedding are done. Owen had to make his tux worth the money we paid so he wore it again for Shanae's wedding. Still as cute as ever.
Here he is with his cousin.

There it is! My busy 3 months! Now I am back to slow daily life, I don't think I can really say that with a 1 year old.

I hopefully will keep caught up better now!

Privacy

So, I have had WAY too many people tell me that they cannot see my blog and are having problems with it being private. So I am going to make it public again so more people can see it.

Sorry for all the hassle!!

Going to the park

There is a park about a mile from our house and I needed to get out of the house yestarday so we headed up there. Owen loved the swings and not so sure about the slide. He was too concerned about the girl running by.

I love his new teeth!
