More pictures of Desi

So many of you may know that Terrell does photography and was quite offended that Desi's first pictures weren't taken by daddy. So here are daddy's pictures, at least some of my favorites.

Desiree Lynn

Our new baby girl was born on Monday August 2, 2010. She was 7 lbs 15 oz and 21 inches long.

I went into the doctor on Monday and they said I was dialated to 4cm and they couldn't let me go into the hospital until I had consistant labor patterns. So I left home and waited until I was having normal contractions. I had them for about 2 hours at 4 pm and we drove ourselves down to the hospital. We checked into the hospital at 5 and they said they would monitor me for an hour.

My doctor came in about 6:15 and he said that I was about 4 1/2 cm and he didn't want to break my water when it was so late and night. He didn't really want to be up all night. He did anyway because Terrell wouldn't be available for the next week to be with me. They said they would be upstairs right away to give me my epidural. 2 hours later, they came up with my epidural. I was already dialated to a 7. That was fun having to do that by myslef considering that I do not have any tolerance for pain. Blah!!!

So I finally got my epidural and then at about 9 pm I was feeling so much pressure like I had to go to the bathroom and my nurse checked my and I was completely dialted. My doctor said that I did very good in my labor and he was proud of me for not taking all night. I started pushing at 9:20 in she was born at 9:29. Terrell said I was losing my touch, Owen was only 7 min!!

The only bad thing about about the labor was that they stuck the epidural needle in too far the first time and puntured my spinal cord so it made some spinal fluid leak out. It caused me to have massive headaches and throw up so they did what is called a blood patch and they draw blood from my arm and they inject it onto me spinal cord to stop the fluid. My back to way sore but the headaches are gone. So I might think about not having an epidural next time but we will see.

She is very cute and we love her to death. Owen is doing great with her too. Her are some of my favorite newborn pictures that they took at the hospital.

House pictures

As promised, here are some before pictures of the house. We still have TONS of work to do.
This is the new baby's room. We are going to cut the bead board half way down and paint it pink.

Here is the master bathroom vanity. I am in love with the double sinks!!!

Here are all the boys working in the kitchen. We have had so much help and it is greatly appreciated. We will still be working on it for a while and hopefully be able to move in by the end of August.

New house

We finally did it!! We bought a house.
As most of you probably know, we were not planning on it but it has worked out to be a good project. We closed on it today and are starting the work to be able to move in soon.
I will take before and after pictures and post them soon!!

Owen's first fishing expreience

Terrell's family went camping over Memorial Day weekend and when you go camping you have to go fishing. Owen had never gone before so we brought along the camera to documnet the occasion. Here are some fun pictures of father & son fishing.

We went on a camp with Terrells family before his brother is sent to Afganistan and his mom wanted to get some family pictures. It was a bit of a challenge to get everyone cleaned up but here are a few of the pictures we got.

My friends Nate & Celeste needed a babysitter for their little girl this week so I volunteered. I figured that I needed the practice of having 2!

We decided that we would go swimming today and here are a few pics.

Owen didn't want to be in the pool. He just wanted to empty all the water.

We had lots of fun and then we came home and they both CRASHED!! Too much fun I guess.

Friendly visitor

I headed out the door this morning to find this visitor just hanging out. He stayed there all day.

The Beach

After 2 days in Disneyland we headed off to the beach. Terrell always has to get to the beach whenever we are in California, he loves it.

I was also excited to go because it would be Owen's first time. We got all geared up with our hats and sand toys and drove down.


Owen wasted no time getting into the sand.


He loves birds. Anytime he would see any he would stop whatever he was doing to chase them.


Terrell wanted to be the first one to take Owen into the water at a beach. This is how Owen liked that idea!!




Ya, not so much. It was a bit cold!

He finally got over being cold and traumatized and started playing again.


He helped dad and gpa build a sand castle. Well, he helped smoosh it.


In the end Owen and Terrell both loved being at the beach. Owen even got a ride on daddy's body board.


It was a nice relaxing day to finish off our vacation.

Disneyland!

My family participated in the Give a Day, Get a Day program from disney and were able to go this last weekend. I was so excited to go, so we drove through the night on wednesday and got there Thursday morning at 8 ish.

We went to Disneyland the first day and Owen was on overload!

Owen was quite sick of riding in his stroller and the only way we could get him to stay with is was to push the stroller with Grandpa.

I absolutely LOVE this picture. He was trying so hard to pick it up. When he realized he couldn't get it, he kept on saying 'STUCK'. It was hilarious.


At the end of the day we had to see Mickey. Owen calls him 'mouse'.


On Firday, we headed over to California Adventure. Terrell and gpa walked from the hotel while gma and I took the shuttle. I was a little worn out from walking ALL day in Disneyland being almost 7 months prego. Whilee Terrell was waiting for us to get there he took this picture of Owen on the CA letters!


Terrell and Gpa went on the California screaming ride and I was trying to get a picture of them and this is what I got. THey seem SOOO excited to be there!


Owen loves glasses. THese are the 3D glasses they use in the Toy Story ride. We went on it twice in a row. Owen liked that one.

We had such a great time. I was a little exhausted after the 2 days of walking around but I did it. I was very proud of myself. We will have to go back later when Owen is a little older and can appreciate it more. But it was way worth it!!
