I just had to post this video of Owen. It is too cute. Terrell is behind the camera making the noises to make Owen laugh. The video doesn't do it justice, but it is still cute.
Grandma Reay, this one is for you since we can't get him to laugh over the phone!

Owen is 6 months!!!
My little baby is 6 months old! I cannot believe how fast it has gone.

We had is checkup on Monday and he is 16 pounds and 27 1/2 inches long. He is bery skinny and tall.
I love staying at home with him and watching him grow and learn.
He has recently learned to sit up all by himself and that is all he wants to do. I am working on crawling and I will let you know how that goes.

Terrell's New Hobby
Well, I guess it isn't such a new hobby, but, Terrell has started to do photography. He has loved taking pictures of Owen and we went through all the pictures he has taken and we figured that we had about 9GB of pictures of Owen. For you who are not familiar with computer terms, that is a TON of pictues. I mean thousands! So Terrell's project for the holidays was to go through ALL the picturesd and organize them because we got a digital picture frame for Christmas and I wanted to put it up. He finally finished a couple of days ago and we are down to about 5 GB, When taking pictures of little ones, you tend to get a lot of not so good pictures.
Anyway, so to further his hobby, he wanted to purchase a seperate flash that attaches to the camera for better results. He had been looking for one for a little while and finally found one yesterday. He called the guy and he said first come first serve and someone was coming tomorrow to bring the money. Terrell said, "well, if I can bring it to you right now, will you sell it to me?" The guy said yes and Terrell asked if we could bring a check. He said he only accepted cash so we had to go home and get it. The add said that he lived in Pleasant Grove so we thought we could just go over on the way to my parents house for Sunday dinner. I got his address and it was a street away from my parents. He asked me if I was familiar with PG and I said he was close to my parents house so I would be ok without directions. Then he asked who my parents were, I told him and come to find out, he is in my parents ward!! FUNNY!! then he said that he trusted us enough to bring him a check(which is all we had with us before getting cash) When we got to his house, they opened the door and it was my old home teacher from before I was married. It was too funny.
So we were bad people and bought something on Sunday and from our old home teacher. We are sinners!!
So, if any of you are interested in getting any kind of pictures taken, Terrell would be happy to.

Owen's new friend
So while we were out in Roosevelt for Christmas, we introduced Owen to Sunny. Sunny is Zane's little bird. He is the most friendly bird that they have. he will just sit on you finger. So we got him out of his cage and Terrell was holding him while Owen was watching. Then, Terrell thought it would be funny to put it on Owen's head. Owen loved this bird. We were both very sad when the pictures we took didn't turn out. But here are some of them.

Christmas
I guess this post is a little late.
Our Christmas was really good. Terrell had 5 days off from work over Christmas so we went out to Roosevelt to spend time with his family. Shanae, his little sister, had just returned from Russia. She was teaching english to elementary age kids. She was over there for about 4 months. It was fun to hear her stories and catch up. She was amazed to see Owen so big. I think she left when he was only 3 weeks. I big difference now that he is almost 6 months.
While we were in Roosevelt we had lots of fun just playing with the family doing games and paintball.
I think my favorite part of Christmas was watching Owen open his presents. He was very good at it. He would grab the corner of the present and get a grip on the wrapping paper on then rip it to shreds. He was very cute. And I, being a dorky mom, started to cry.
Santa was very nice this Christmas. he brought Owen a fun seat with toys. He loves it. He also got a tiger rug. It is soo cute.
Terrell says that I was very spoiled. I got every little thing I wanted and asked for. I REALLLLLYYYYY REALLLYYY wanted a Cricut machine for scrapbooking. Terrell wasn't about to spend $300 on a machine that we don't have room for.I was kind of bummed but I got over it.
Well, we went to his company party and they had a bunch of businesses donate things and guess what we won. A CRICUT!!!! I was soo excited. Terrell couldn't believe it. It was awesome.
We had a great holiday and hope you all did to.
Happy New Year as well.

Christmas Pictures
As many of you know, Terrell has taken up photography and LOVES taking pictures of Owen. Well, last week, he was taking pictures of our new nephew and while Kyler was taking a break to eat, we snapped a few pictures of Owen.
Grandma bought him a santa outfit and he was the cutest thing in the world.
We have also decided that we don't need to buy him anything for Christmas, he just likes the bows on the presents!! They are so colorful and they crinkle and make noise. A baby's dream!!

Owen is growing up!
So I went to go visit my friend Janeene beofre she went beck to work after having her baby and it made me realize how much Owen has grown up ALREADY! Koree (Janeene's baby girl) is only 5 weeks and she weighs about 9 lbs but as I held her I thought to myself, Owen was never this small. But Owen was 7 lbs when he was born. I just can't remember him being so small and dependent on me.
He is now almost 4 months and has figured out so many things. He found his hand a couple of weeks ago and I just love to sit and watch him look at his fingers and realize how they work. He is also recognizing things that if he pulls them they make noise. He has a frog on his bouncer and loves to pull on it and have it play the song. (like right now, I think I have heard it 10 times in the last 2 minutes :)
He has also mastered rolling over. People say that babies usually roll from their front to their back first but not Owen. He rolled from his back to his front. It took him a little to figure it out because the arm he rolled over would get stuck under his belly and he couldn't get it out.
I think my favorite thing that he is doing now is that I can make him smile and laugh whenever I want. I used to be lucky if I got 1 smile out of him every day. Now he can't help but laugh every time he looks at me. Maybe I am funny looking in the morning when my hair isn't done and have no make up on!!!
Here is the most recent smiling picture. He was just sitting on the table as we were playing a game. Pretty nice candid!!!

Blessings in Disguise
I would like to give everyone an update on my last post. I was having thoughts on if I should return to work or not. Terrell and I decided that I should go back until we have our second child.
Well, my first day back to work was Oct. 6th. Terrell works for IHC and they have a day care available to all employees. The facility is so good that it takes a couple about 1 1/2 years to get into. We put our name on the list right when I got pregnant and we were 1st on the list to get in when I was going back. When it was time for me to go back, they did not have an opening yet. So I had to arrange a babysitter for the first week back until Owen would have permanent day care.
I went to work and let them know of the situation; I didn't have day care for Owen and at that time I was not able to come back to work full-time. My work was willing to work with me and they extended my leave until January when I would have day care for him. My work is AWESOME!!!
Then the Monday before Halloween the day care called me and told me that another child dropped out and there was a spot open. I was first on the list so they offered it me. One of the conditions for my work to extend my leave was that I had to let them know when day care was available and they would work with management to get me back into work. So, I went in and talked with my manager and told him I had day care and was ready to come back.
He then told me that they were upgrading the system we use and with that upgrade come with a lot of things that can be electronicly done instead of hand entered. With that there would be less man hours needed to do entry, so he said at that time they were not in a position to hire me back, otherwise they would be over staffed.
I had to be honest with him in saying that if they didn't hire me back now, I would have to pass up the day care oppurtunity and I couldn't garauntee that it would be open again when they could hire me back. He understood and we agreed that I wouldn't be working there anymore.
So to make a long story short, I quit my job and am now a stay a home mom! I am kind of sad because if you know me at all, you know that I am a very social person and like that atmosphere. But there also is a joy in staying home with Owen all day. So, in order to get my social time, all you other moms need to call me and we can go out, or our kids can have a play day!
Thanks for all your input and support in our decision. I guess the lord works in mysterious ways to make you choose the right decision. He knew that I should stay home and made all the things fall into place for that to happen.
